Dear IHC Chapter 35 of NYS members,
Our Meeting Sunday at the clubhouse was a fun time with plenty of toys proudly displayed. Considering it was Super Bowl Sunday, our turnout was good. I want to thank everyone that brought toys and told of their history. New member Dan Hofmann of Springville, NY hit a home run with his huge first-time display. Many of his 4x4 tractors were custom built. Our Farm Toy expert Doug Harke of Geneseo, NY showed a great 1959 B Series IH flatbed truck with a dandy rare IH 660 onboard. Doug did all the work himself with the scratch-built Tru-Scale truck. He said a bit more work remains to be done to the truck. Butch Christ's showing of IH trucks was also well done. Working the past week on my Persian Orange Allis-Chalmers 'G' in my shop and getting some inquiries - if other than red toys could be displayed, gave me the idea to display my AC tractors. Next year we will name our Farm Toy Show an "All Color Show" and give our members an opportunity to show their other color collectibles.
