Next Meeting April 16, Steve & Susan Sondericker “Friendly Acres Farm”
The big WNY Gas & Steam Engine Association Rally enjoyed fine weather this year as many of us gathered on Wednesday evening to get our tractors lined up behind our club banner on the hill where we became familiar years back. By the time we left 17 tractors had arrived, 4 of them Cub Cadets. On Saturday I was told nearly 35 tractors were lined up in two long rows. This was the result of member Gary Hill and his telephone drive to revive some of our old club spirit of showing lots of red. Let us hope that this continues next year during the show season.
The Alexander Rally was fun this year seeing our club tractors lined up on the hill, a spot we claimed years ago. Chapter 35 Cub Cadets, Farmalls and Internationals never looked better. I had planned on giving credit here to all our members showing their tractors, but misplaced my list. Many agreed the Tom Macauley 1206 Turbo was best in its class. Terry Page’s Farmall 300 and Gary Hill’s Farmall Cub stood tall as did Dale Rissinger’s Tractor Shed trailer full of his pedal tractors. And thanks too for Dave Meacham and his mighty Farmall M on the pulling track. My 682 was all spruced up and in the front row.
